We have exciting news to share with you regarding the Morrice Area schools’ meal service being provided for your child.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced schools will be able to serve free meals to all children through December 31, 2020, or until the federal funding runs out. This unprecedented move will help ensure – no matter what the situation is on-the-ground – children have access to nutritious food as the country is going through this pandemic.
It remains critical our children continue to receive safe, healthy, and nutritious food. This will ensure meals are reaching all children – whether they are learning in the classroom or virtually – so they are fed and ready to learn, even in new and ever-changing learning environments.
Effective immediately your child can receive a free breakfast and a free lunch at school every day during school! We will be working to credit your child’s account for any meal expense since school has started. Please be patient with us, this may take a few weeks for us to complete this.
If you would like to order your child’s lunch for the week or if your child is participating in virtual learning – we will be using the Send Money to School program to order the meals. This should be ready by next Tuesday. You can place your weekly order up to the cutoff time of 9 am on Thursday morning. Pickup times for the meals are 9am to 10:15am on Fridays in front of the high school building. If you have ordered meals for your child/children and you or a designated person for you cannot pick up meals, please contact the high school building so we can alert the food service department.
Please continue to apply for meal benefits at www.Lunchapp.com so that when this federal funding is expired we can continue to feed your students at the correct benefit status for your family.
We hope this news helps all of our Morrice families.
We look forward to serving your children.
