Elementary Positive Case
Dear Morrice Parents and Guardians,
The district was notified today that two elementary students tested positive for COVID-19. Once the district was
notified, the Shiawassee County Health Department was contacted to provide further instruction.
What does this mean for our staff and students?
- The students and staff identified as having direct exposure to these students have been contacted.
- In an effort to continue to allow parents ample time to plan for our upcoming transition to virtual learning, Morrice Elementary will stay open for face-to-face instruction on November 24th and November 25th.
Continue to monitor your children for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. COVID-19 symptoms can include but are not
limited to cough, fever, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you
note any of the mentioned signs or symptoms in your child, please contact your healthcare provider or seek a COVID-19 test by calling 2-1-1 or visiting www.michigan.gov/coronavirustest.
We appreciate your continued support of keeping our staff and children safe and healthy,
Michael R. Dewey
